Dog-Friendly Estonia
by Rental Car

Vast forests, empty beaches and farm stays that welcome dogs. Estonia is one of the best countries in Europe to travel with a dog — and a rental car makes all of it accessible.

Book a car

Why a car is essential travelling with a dog

Public transport in Estonia is dog-tolerant in cities, but the best spots — forests, lakes, beaches and farm stays — are only reachable by car.

pets

Dogs ride free

Estonia has no public transport restrictions on dogs — but forest trails, beaches and countryside are only reachable by car.

Leash laws are minimal

In national parks and RMK forests, dogs may be off-leash on most trails. No fines, no stress — just nature.

Lakes everywhere

Over 1,500 lakes mean your dog is rarely more than 20 minutes from a swim. Most are freely accessible from forest roads.

cabin

Dog-welcome stays

Farm guesthouses and forest huts routinely accept dogs at no extra charge. Book early in July and August.

luggage

Carry what you need

A boot full of dog food, a crate, towels and muddy paws — only a car gives you that freedom without compromise.

Trailhead access

Most RMK trailheads and beach access points have car parks. No long walks from bus stops in the rain.

6 great spots for dogs

From wild forest trails to dog-friendly beaches and island farm stays — Estonia rewards dog owners who explore by car.
